Breast Surgery Scar Therapy
Breast Surgery Scar Therapy in Long Island, NY
Compassionate, targeted care for healing after all types of breast surgery
Whether it’s due to a mastectomy, breast reduction, augmentation, lumpectomy, reconstruction, or even implant revision, breast surgery often leaves behind more than just a visible scar. It can affect how you move, how you feel in your body, and how you experience intimacy, breath, posture, and self-image.
Sometimes, the healing looks complete from the outside – but underneath, scar tissue may still be pulling, restricting, or disrupting your sense of comfort and balance. Breast surgery scar therapy is designed to help you release those internal restrictions, soften the tissue, reduce discomfort, and reconnect with your body in a new, empowered way.

Why Scar Therapy is So Important After Breast Surgery
Scars from breast surgeries form in multiple layers – skin, fat, fascia, and even muscle. Over time, those layers may adhere to each other or surrounding structures, which can cause:
- tightness across the chest, shoulders, or ribs
- postural changes or imbalances
- pain or numbness in the scar area
- limited range of motion in the arms or upper body
- emotional disconnection from the surgical site
- self-consciousness or body image concerns
Scar tissue is not always the culprit you see – it’s the one you feel. Manual scar therapy offers a way to work gently with the tissue and help restore the mobility, sensation, and harmony your body deserves.

How Breast Surgery Scar Therapy Works
Marjorie Brook, LMT developed The S.T.R.A.I.T Method™ (or Scar Tissue Release and Integrated Therapies), a globally recognized system for releasing scar tissue and restoring balance to the body.
Each session is tailored to your unique healing journey and may include:
- full consultation and surgical history review
- evaluation of scar tissue texture, mobility, and sensation
- gentle hands-on scar release therapy
- recommendation for additional treatment techniques such as deep oscillation therapy or cupping
- functional movement therapy to retrain posture, breathing, and range of motion
This approach isn’t about “fixing” you – it’s about helping your body integrate and heal in a way that supports your life, your goals, and your comfort.
Benefits of Scar Therapy After Breast Surgery
Clients seek out scar therapy after breast surgery for many reasons – from physical restriction to emotional healing. Common outcomes include:
- reduced tightness and pulling sensation
- softer, more mobile scar tissue
- restored range of motion in shoulders, chest, and upper body
- decrease nerve sensitivity or numbness
- improved posture and body alignment
- increased comfort with touch and intimacy
- renewed connection to the body and self-image
And while the visual appearance of a scar may improve, the real focus is on how your body feels – because healing isn’t always skin deep.

What Marjorie’s Clients Have Been Saying
I’ve been seeing Marjorie for three sessions so far, and the results I’ve seen with scar tissue that had really been bothering me have been—short of saying—incredible. She’s extremely talented. It’s exactly what I was looking for, and I’m genuinely excited to continue working with her.
While we’ve mainly been focused on scar tissue (which was my main goal), she also gave me a glimpse of her knowledge in stretching and body mechanics—and even that small bit led to regained mobility in areas I hadn’t felt free in for a long time. That really impressed me.
Working with Marjorie has been a life changing experience. After engaging for a few years with other practitioners and their alternative modalities, I was still suffering from having serious difficulties with mobility.
Her experience, intuition and the physical things that she does with me, have created immediate change. Some are large and others are small changes and there are always changes-yeah, and that makes me very happy.
That said, Marjorie is kind, intelligent and truly a compassionate person and I honestly believe who and how she is makes the healing even more potent .
Marjorie is THEE best at her craft! She truly embodies what it means to "do what you love for a living". You can tell she really cares for each person & THEIR story/needs.
My case is actually a rare condition where my scar tissue is so hard it feels like bone, which resulted in practically zero ROM (Range of Motion). I gained the most release in my muscles after my sessions with Marjorie, than with any other therapist.
But what I loved most was the KNOWLEDGE I left her place with. She gave me so many tips to take home with me, even down to the way I should carry myself/my head/my posture when I walk.
If I lived in NY, I would schedule with Marjorie several times a week. Unfortunately, I live in Philadelphia, but STILL make it a point to travel to her when I can to experience those HEALING HANDS of hers!
10/10 would definitely recommend!
